As a native Sacramentan, Laureen often portrayed scenes from throughout the city in her work.
Hers is an illustrious career spanning more than four decades and boasting over 35 solo exhibitions at Artists Contemporary Gallery, Crocker Art Museum, Kondos Gallery, Solomon Dubnick, and many more. She studied and lectured at California College of Arts & Crafts, California State University, Sacramento City College, Art Center College, Los Angeles and San Francisco Art Institute. She has work on exhibition at Crocker Art Museum in the Permanent Contemporary Collection, and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
“…Ignored Omens”

Archival Framing is proud to present “Ignored Omens”, select works from the home and studio of Laureen Landau at The Archival Gallery” at 3223 Folsom Blvd. Opening with a “Second Saturday” reception on June 11th.
This exhibition will include many never before exhibited works from the artist’s estate. This dark series is perhaps the artist’s strongest works and were completed between 1997 and 2005. The exhibition includes both paintings and works on paper. Landau was an instructor at Sacramento City College for 30 years and passed away in 2009.
